3:13AM - Hello, everyone.

I'm James and I'm here to let you all know that I've just begun another community. It's called:

....and it's for all fans of '60s and '70s cinema. Of course, it's discussed topics can extend BEYOND that. You are free to discuss ANYTHING you want about film, but it's most preferred to try and relate it to the main theme of the community. Now, I know there are several lovers of those decades of film, so I sure hope I find a decent, substantial amount suitable enough to boost the strength of my community =D. Please, everyone, check it out!

And I hope to hear from you soon. Ciao.

there are tons of downloads at

4:08PM - a new "cult" favorite

today i half-ass watched The Element of Crime.
clicky for description
it's been just busy enough at work that i can't concentrate on it for more than a couple minutes at a time, but it looks totally awesome. it has great visuals and is totally random/weird. i really wish i had the time to sit down and watch it without distractions.

11:51PM - there are pretty people and clever people

i rented -me without you- today. i know i said i'd watch it with kim/kristin/nic la di da... but i wanted to see it and i don't have many days left around.. so i don't want to be sitting with friends watching rental movies.

but but but. it was a really good movie. sometimes it was hard to understand with the accents and what not... but i really liked it. some might consider it slow because you realize what the movie is all about, right away...but i was intrigued how well they made a movie 1h and 47m long with the same issue arrising and i was still into it. so yeah.

plus! i love watching these kinds of films because of all the "indie" previews. i always love those sorts of films. it's all about the writing and cinematography rather than the actors. i've seen some ugly/bad actors playing roles that would be played by ben affleck or whatever, if it were a hollywood movie. so it's really a mind opener.

anyway.. i recommend everyone go rent it.. because michelle williams is hotness!

i watched 5 movies yesterday.
well, we had movie party type sleepover last night, so that accounted for three of them.
here's my list:
igby goes down - if you haven't seen it, please do. it's great. i think i already posted about it.
death of a salesman - i watched this while i was at work. i had never seen it before, nor had i read it. it's not too bad. i really enjoyed how the set is like a play. it is a little over my head, though...maybe just because i don't necissarily relate to the characters...maybe just because i was at work and distracted.
another day in paradise - i've seen this movie about 7 times. for some reason that i can't quite pinpoint, i like it. i know i love Natasha Gregson Wagner (total hottie, though she'll be 33 soon), and i think it's hilarious that melanie griffith is a junkie. plus, it's set in tulsa. woo-hoo.
spun - okay, i'm sure i wrote about this one. it's a crazy hilarious "don't do drugs" kind of movie. it has a great cast, and the cinematography is just rad beyond belief.
mercy - hahahahahaha. this is a crazy mystery/suspense movie. it's actually really bad but worth watching because of occasional bits of lesbian bondage porn. it's a very skinamax-type movie. a few scenes are very hot, but they always leave you wanting more. oh yeah, peta wilson is in it. yowch! la femme nikkita

we were also supposed to watch what to do in case of fire (a german, anarchist punks 10 years later movie) and godzilla meets bambi (crazy cartoons), but we were too busy chatting to get to it. i think we're supposed to watch them tonight, though. lovely evening.

last night i watched SPUN. it's a pretty funny movie, if you consider seeing popular 20-something actors being extremely cranked out. i highly enjoyed it.
today i'm trying to watch Read My Lips. it's a french film about a semi-deaf woman and her encounter with an ex-con. it's good, but i'm having trouble concentrating on it because i'm at work and people are continuously interrupting me.
i really want to see He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not i hope it comes out soon. i know it'll be in the next 3 months, but i want it now. ::stomps foot & pouts::

Just thought I'd touch on a movie I came across called Session 9. It's a very potent psychological thriller. Definately one of those slow starters, but that's how I typically like my movies. It's all shot on a shoestring, and is definately considered a 'indie' affair., so if your interested in great moviemaking give it a glance.

2:49PM - virgin machine

i watched it last night before i fell asleep. well, i didn't finish it. i had to go to bed. anyway, it's totally awesome. it's about a german woman (half of the movie is in german) who goes to san francisco in search of her mother. incidentally, she is writing a story about romantic love, which sends her into the lesbian scene. there's a fucking amazing drag king performance. if there were kings around here like that, i wouldn't be single. hotness. i almost interrupted my roommate and her girlfriend to make them come watch it. i'm sure they will tonight.

Stephen King's movies rock my box for some reason..they're all so...the same but, totally entertaining for me. what else have I seen lately?
Finding Nemo: cute, ellen of course is hilarious
Bruce Almighty: good, save the "learning" experiences...sort of preachy

darkness falls is a scary-ass movie. especially when you're already afraid of the dark. it had a stupid, stupid ending, though. i hate it when movies are all good and scary, then the end just whacks you in the face with the retardatuion stick. oh, it didn't make any fucking sense, either. okay, the story goes that when you lose your last baby tooth, the tooth fairy comes; but if you look at her face, she'll kill you. the only thing that can save you is light. light burns her, so she stays away from it. i understand this. it's cool. whatever. i just don't get why the fuck she started going after people that weren't even in the same room as the idiots that peeked. i think she just felt like finally going on a killing spree. noone believed in her, so they deserved to die. . . people are fucking stupid.

3:01PM - Lovely and Amazing

Besides the fact that Jake Gyllenhal was in it and beautiful? Well...it was an alright movie, but...maybe it just wasn't something I related to so I didn't feel it, I wasn't really into at all...plus it was one of those...here's the movie, climax and END....no you don't come down from the climax, it's like getting off and the second you get off they make you leave the room, you don't even get time to breath and cuddle for one second...that was that movie...but, jake....grrr...yummy *smiles shyly

3:00PM - Igby goes down

I thought it was an awsome movie, Keiran Culkin is about to be as cute as Maculey (which is sort of hard though) and everyone else did a great job, except Ryan Phillipe, who is always so type-cast. anyway, I just sort of liked the feel of the movie, something I would totally watch again...and recommend others to view.
